Effective March 1, 2007, we’ve added all the information for the DI rider to our term applications in approved states. Now it’s even easier to sell DI!

Annuity Rate Change (S.A.OT.B/PR.H)

The bond market has continued to soften. As a result we have to decrease fixed annuity interest rates effective March 5, 2007. Rates are going down 20 basis points. Caps, participation rates, and spreads on the equity index products will not change! Please see the updated Rate Sheet. There is still time to get the higher rates; check out the Rate Lock Policy for further details.

Discontinued Products as of February 28, 2007 (S.L.OT.B/PR.H)

Reminder: With the introduction of USL Elite Universal Life, the following products will no longer be available for sale: USL Medalist Premier, Platinum Protector G (offered by American General Life) and USL Platinum Protector G (offered by United States Life). Any applications for these products must be signed and received in the Home Office on or before February 28, 2007.  For any applications received on or after March 1, 2007, an alternative product must be selected and a signed amendment will be required.

State Approvals (S.L/A/A&H.OT.B/PR.H)

Updates include:

• GA has been added to the list of approved states for the ROPTerm product.
• IN, NV, OR and TN have been added to the list of approved states for the ROPTerm DI Rider.
• IN, NV, OR and TN have been added to the list of approved states for the LTG Ultra DI Rider.
• The Consumer Price Index has been added to the Annuities page. It is approved in all states except HI, IL, MN, NJ and OR.
