Brainwave

The Brainwave Centre is a charity which provides individually designed home based therapy for children up to twelve years old. The Brainwave Programme uniquely supports families; ensuring children with a brain injury or genetic condition are helped to reach their full potential.

Following a detailed assessment of each child, a sequence of exercises is designed, based on physiological and neurological principles to meet the individual child's challenges and needs. The exercises facilitate and reinforce normal patterns of movement and in many instances will include cognitive, multi sensory exercises and vestibular techniques and where appropriate, hydrotherapy.

Children's Hospice Association of Scotland (CHAS)

CHAS is committed to the provision of children's hospice services in Scotland, working exclusively with children who have life limiting conditions and their families. The charity runs Scotland's only children's hospices, Rachel House in the East of Scotland and Robin House at Loch Lomond in the West. CHAS also runs Rachel House at Home based in Inverness which supports families in their own homes in the Highlands.

CHAS cares for the whole family, providing specialist palliative support through respite, emergency and terminal care. Families are also supported through their bereavement, often for many years. Both Rachel and Robin House are homes from home for families, providing a haven of friendship, information and expert care to families when they need it most.
